Online Shopping Is Quick and Easy - For Rude People!

Okay, so it's the christmas season, and Christmas season in retail (my second job) is the busiest time of the year. It's also the time when the customers get the nastiest. You'd think the phrase "Jesus is the reason for the season" would make people nicer....... So I've got a Top 5 list for those shoppers who get on my nerves..... please take notes....

5. When I ask "Is there a size I can get for you, ma'am?" or "Do you need help finding a size, ma'am?" that's code for "STOP MESSING UP MY PILE."

4. Does it take all of that to get what you want? I mean, really? If you are looking for a size 10 pant or Large shirt (which are usually towards the bottom of the pile), why can't you just gently pick up the sizes on top, get your size, and then put the stack back down? Why do you have to grab your size and pull? Are you practicing the "pull the tablecloth off the table while the dishes stay in place" magic trick on the stack of clothes I just folded?

3. Scenario: I'm working and I see a potential customer walk in.....
Me: "Hey. How are you doing?"
Customer: "I'm just looking."
Did I ASK if you were just looking? NO! I asked how you were doing!

2. My store prints out customer service survey coupons every other transaction. When I'm ringing up a customer and I see one print out, I have to make a quick evaluation of the customer's prior-to-checkout behavior..... *flashback*

Me: "How are you doing today?"
Customer: "I'm just looking."
Me: "Can I help you find your size?"
Customer: "No, I think I got it." ((as she throws back the size she didn't want))
-fast forward to checkout-
Me: "Did you find everything okay?"
Customer: "Yes."
Me: "Would you like to save 15% by opening - "
Customer: "NO!"
Me: "You don't want to hear about the benefits of having our credit card?"
Customer "NO!"
*back to present time*
I trash the survey coupon with the quickness! Nasty people don't get coupons!

1. Sometimes I work the fitting room, and when it gets extremely busy, I don't always have time to put all of the clothes back. Sometimes they end up piled up on the cart right outside the fitting room.... and then here you come with your 10 pair of jeans, and add them to my mountain of clothes. And then when I finally get to put back those clothes, there you are in the same place you got all the clothes in the first place. If you're going back to the SAME PLACE to get another size of the SAME THING, just take the clothes back with you. Really....

Moral of the story: if you are an inconsiderate and/or rude shopper, nine times out of ten you know you are inconsiderate and/or rude..... so how about you stay out of my store and just shop online???
